Ralph McMillan was lost in the crash of 879. He was a very talented individual and pilot. Those of us who knew and worked with him really appreciated his wit, humour and airmanship.

| I learned to fly with Ralph at Point Cook in 1966. We shared the same instructor, Flight Lieutenant Dave Twyford, who called Ralph "Saltspray". Ralph and I spent considerable time together composing alternative lyrics to current pop songs. One I remember was "Land Visually" sung to the beatles tune "Act Naturally". he was a unique character I'll always remember. The same goes for Michael Desmond Lynch who was also on the course.
