In the early evening of 21st of December 1988, Pan American Boeing 747-121 constructors No 19646, registered N739PA, delivered in February 1970 as Clipper Morning Light but subsequently re-named Clipper Maid of the Seas, departed London Heathrow for New York at 18:25, and into infamy as PanAm Flight 103.
