Pilot and passenger unhurt and were accidently discovered by a party of trampers a few hours later.
The remains of the aircraft were rediscovered by a deer culler in March 1963.
The airframe was reported to be relatively undamaged although most of the fabric had rotted away over the years.
Remains sold to T. Williams and is reportedly under restoration at Mandeville.

The aircraft had actually been flying for some months prior to this and had crashed at Alexandra on 28 January 1956 after hitting high tension wires on take off and cartwheeling into the ground. Bush Aviation's final operation was flown by Ron Bush in this aircraft on 17 December 1959.
Officially the aircraft was transferred to Hewett Aviation the new owners of the firm but because of it's condition they showed little interest in it and it was cancelled from the register on 04 July 1960.
The parts were given to a Mr. H. Richardson of Mandeville who already had a large collection of Tiger Moth Parts.
The fuselage was used by him as the basis for the construction of a non airworthy aircraft.
The aircraft was at the Yaldhurst Transport Museum in the late 1970s and early 1980s and is now displayed at the Gore Air Force Museum.

Sold to Canterbury Gliding Club for 529 pounds.
Entered the New Zealand Civil Aircraft Register as ZK-BME.
Operated by the Gliding Club with the name "Tuggerbuggy."
To Wigram Gliding Club in August 1963.
Reduced to spares by 1966 and cancelled from the register on 19 October 1966 as dismantled for spares.
Remains stored in hangar at Wigram for some years before being removed in early 1970s.
Remains left Christchurch in a Hercules in January 1978, and were sighted at MOTAT in 1982.
Possibly still stored at MOTAT in Auckland.

Crashed in the Taieri Gorge at 1700 hours on 27 September 1997 when the aircraft stalled in a turn and spun into the ground during a flight from Alexandra to Dunedin.
Both occupants were killed and the aircraft was destroyed by fire.
Cancelled from the register on 02 April 1998 as destroyed.

Presently believed to be under restoration at Gisborne.

Crashed into the Whakarewarewa State Forest near Rotorua on 16 September 1950 after failing to recover from a spin during aerobatics.
Pilot and passenger unhurt.

Crashed in Waiatai Valley 6 miles from Wairoa on 15 September 1951. Cancelled from register on 07 October 1952 due accident.
